C4 platform supports the integration among PACS systems, radiology information systems (RIS) and electronic medical record (EMR) systems.

The term "C4-compatible," refers to both C4 host, such as a PACS workstation, and also refers to the host running clinical applications program, such as 3D angiography visualization tool or orthopedic surgery planning software package. C4 provides a standard interface for all the two-way information between host and clinical application plug-in program and create a highly integrated system aiming at maximizing the productivity.

Cedara software company’s I-ReadMammo software is specially designed for the entire breast imaging workflow. It has an independent version and C4-compatible version both of which are applicable to multi-mode. It do not rely on a particular vendor digital mammography imaging workstation system, so that medical institutions can use a single workstation to display and read the pictures from different manufacturers and different Acquisition equipment (digital mammography, ultrasound, magnetic resonance imaging [MRI], computer radiation imaging [CR]).

Another Cedara C4-compatible clinical application software is Cedara OrthoWorks ProPlanner. It is also developing C4-compatible positron emission tomography / CT (PET / CT) for advanced radiology examination; there is also Cedara B-CAD (computer-aided diagnosis) in order to assist ultrasound analysis of breast.
