China medical and health information technology development is still not balanced in accordance with the health ministry. At the same time, the government should have clear goals and incentive policy in promoting medical and health information technology process.

China medical and health information technology development has acquired a certain achievements. In 1000 hospitals of three level, the computers proportion number in the hospital have been in front of and achieved international top level in many applications. The computer system and the hospital operation has been inseparable and become the pillar of support of normal operation. But China current medical and heath information development is imbalance and there is a larger gap between developed field and backward area, high-end and low-end hospital.

At present, the network digital, medical equipment of domestic larger hospital is everywhere, such as Digital Radiography gradually widely application, Color Ultrasonic System and High Frequency Radiography Unit, but patients diagnosis speed doesn’t enhance effectivly. Medical and heath information should provide more superior service, speed faster. Therefore, each department of coordination, process reform also need a process for making this coordination appear. Many problems are not rely on information and technology question, nontechnical problem is also very important.

There is a gap with this question which domestic and foreign faced about medical information position and role in medical reform. At abroad, medical and health information is the key of medicla reform success. But in China, medical and health information is one of key elements of medical reform. But it has achieved a great progress. In last year, information has been the eight pillar of the most basic which support medical reform success.
