Although China medical equipment industry has developed fastly, it will lost development opportunity if China medical equipment enterprises cann’t breakthrough some bottleneck problems of current development.

First, there are lots of medical device enterprises in China and their scale is small. It exists some problems, such as quantity, small scale, low industry concentration, insufficient investment in research and weak innovation ability.

Second, domestic medical device technology is low. For example, Computed Tomography, Digital Radiography, MRI and ECG. The high-end market is occupied by foreign enterprises. According to related statistics, domestic medical equipment share is less than one-third in high-end market. There is a certain disparity in products life and quality with foreign enterprises.

Third, shortage of funds and financing difficulities. There is less tangible capital of China medical instrument enterprises so that r&d input is seriously insufficient, it is only 3%.

Therefore, we should guide fund to make social capital join in and establish professional industrial fund by technology innovation. Then support enterprises innovation development by cooperating with independent project of technology department. In addition, local government and technology area should support areas leading enterprises merger and promote industry group formation.
