Cost-Efficient MRI Does Not Compromise Quality
Time:2017-3-2 8:11:33 Author:admin
A new magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) system is designed to provide consumers with access to advanced clinical applications while optimizing total cost of ownership.
The Siemens Healthineers Magnetom Sempra MRI system is a 60-cm bore 1.5-tesla device with Day optimizing throughput (Dot) technology, which allows users to adjust to each clinical case while simultaneously maintaining exam standardization. Sempra has three Dot engines for brain, spine, and large joint procedures, which together cover three-quarters of the average MRI facility's exam volume. The Dot engines enables exams to be performed in just 10 minutes using time and image optimized protocols.
The Magnetom Sempra includes applications that enable facilities to respond to competitive pressure and adapt to changing market demands. For example, it can scan in the presence of MRI-safe metallic implants with improved visualization of surrounding soft tissue, including hip and knee implants. The system’s software platform includes Quiet Suite technology, which can reduce sound pressure by up to 97% in brain and musculoskeletal exams while delivering high-quality images. Quiet Suite technology can also benefit anxious patients and offer a more positive exam experience.
To reduce overall operating costs, the system offers Eco-Power technology, which monitors and controls the magnet-cooling helium, reducing energy consumption by up to 30% compared to the system’s normal mode. Zero Helium boil-off technology, a supplementary feature, prevents helium evaporation, so operators can avoid expensive helium refills and resultant downtimes. Other applications, such as advanced WARP and Tim 4G coils make it possible to examine previously excluded patient groups with a positive patient experience.
“We want to emphasize three main messages to our customers,” said Andreas Schneck, VP of marketing and sales for MRI at Siemens Healthineers. “We attach great importance to ensuring that with the MAGENTOM Sempra, we give our customers access to consistent quality; we want to give them the opportunity to expand their clinical opportunities, which is linked to offering advanced applications and also helps them differentiate themselves from the competition; and last but not least that aspect of financial certainty that’s linked to the concept of optimizing total cost of ownership.”
