The medical equipment trade scale of China-asean has expanded gradually because of China-asean free trade area established in time. In 2010, export amounts of China-asean medical equipment were 7.16 billion dollars and increased 17.64 than last year in accordance with China's customs statistics data. ASEAN has become the fourth trade partners and export market of China medical equipment.  

Free trade area should be released gradually and both trades are steady growth.

In 2010, the medical equipment imports of China were 1.79 billion dollars and increased 11.77% than last year; Exports of aseean medical equipment were 5.37 billion dollars and enhanced 19.75%. Export growth of ASEAN was higher import growth from asean. This shows that China medical equipments have a strong competitive advantage than asean countries.

With 2010 China-asean free trade area established formally, China import tariffs of asean most of products have decreased to zero. The 99% China medical equipments import tariffs are zero that Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia and Philippines to China. This has created a good development space of both import and export trade.  Small household devices and one-time consumables are the main export products.

The other products, such as Portable x-ray Unit, Color ultrasound, Digital Radiography and MRI have increased fastly and these products exports growth was more than 35%. But export enterprises are mainly Siemens and GE.
