CT scan can effectively check smokers whether they had lung cancer
According to report, compared with the traditional chest X-ray fluoroscopy, CT scanning can reduce 20% of mortality for smoking patients with lung cancer. The researchers are proceeding three years of follow-up studies to get this conclusion for 5.3 million smokers who have been smoked or are still smoking heavy. These smokers all have 30 years of smoking experience and cost package of cigarette everyday.
Researchers randomly divide investigate object into the control group and experimental group, the control group personnel receive medical X-ray fluoroscopy each year and experimental group personnel receive CT scan every year. So far this year on 20 October, 354 people died of lung cancer in the experimental group and 442 people died of lung cancer in the control group. Researchers point out that one of the main reasons of two groups of mortality appearing difference is CT scans can earlier and more accurately find smokers whether suffered lung cancer, which prompting these patients to treat earlier then playing an important role on decreasing the mortality rate.
Although a CT scan can reduce mortality for smoking patients with lung cancer, but this method does not prevent the occurrence of lung cancer. If you want to prevent lung cancer, no smoking!
