ClearCorrect Expands Fleet of Dental 3-D Printers
Time:2015-7-12 9:13:35 Author:admin
ClearCorrect LLC (Round Rock, TX, USA) has increased production capacity by expanding its fleet of 3D printers from Stratasys Ltd. (Minneapolis, MN, USA and Rehovot, Israel) and making 100% of its dental models with 3D printing.
ClearCorrect, a leading manufacturer of clear dental aligners, has incorporated an additional batch of the Objet Eden500V to its fleet of Stratasys 3-D Printers. With this addition, ClearCorrect will now realize a 30% increase in its capacity to produce custom-made, clear orthodontic aligners. The digital dentistry workflow also allows prompt response to supply demand.
ClearCut can now quickly print models throughout the patient's treatment. A digitized scan of a patient's mouth is used to create accurate 3D printed models, which are then thermoformed with a specially formulated plastic to create custom, clear aligners. Every 2-3 weeks, the patient begins wearing a new set until realignment is complete.
ClearCorrect's previous investment in the Objet series of 3-D Printers has been realized several times over with optimized workflows, production, and delivery – all at a lower cost per case. The additional printers also help shorten lead times and accommodate rush orders.
"Adding more Stratasys 3D Printers to our digital workflow means that we can easily scale up with demand—enabling us to service more doctors with faster delivery times," said Jarrett Pumphrey, CEO of ClearCorrect. "The 3D printers alone are not the only reason for working with Stratasys," he added, "we are extremely happy with the dedicated support we receive from their technicians and customer support team."
"The versatility of the Objet Eden500V 3D Printers gives ClearCorrect the ability to efficiently manufacture high-quality aligners on a mass scale, expand in existing markets, and enter new markets,” said said Avi Cohen, director of Global Dental at Stratasys, “The decision to expand their 3D printing operation demonstrates how Stratasys has earned ClearCorrect's trust through reliable performance and customer support."
