Automatic Analyzer Tests the Safety of Defibrillators
A new medical device analyzer offers manual and automatic test programs for fast and effective testing of defibrillator response, interpretation, and performance.
The Rigel Medical UNI-PULSE can verify the safe operation and functionality of monophasic, biphasic, and pulsed waveform defibrillators, as well as automated external defibrillators (AEDs). The battery powered analyzer features advanced measurement technology, and includes improved Bluetooth and USB connectivity, enhanced memory capacity for the storage of results, defibrillator waveforms, and test programs, and a clear, easy-to-read color graphics display screen, which provides easy navigation around the functions.
The simulations and functions include defibrillator waveform capture, accurate energy measurements, cardio synch times, peak voltage, and current. An optional paddle adaptor box includes a version with variable loads (from 25-200 Ohms) for compliance with International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) requirements. A 12-lead electrocardiogram (ECG) simulation with substantial variation of atrial and ventricular arrhythmias and performance waveforms provides faster, easier, and more accurate testing of defibrillators with built-in monitoring functions.
The Rigel Medical UNI-PULSE, a product of Rigel Medical (Durham, United Kingdom), can also be used with proprietary Med-eBase PC software to provide enhanced electronic recording and management of medical device safety testing programs.
