ECG Management Module Improves Workflow
A fully integrated, web-enabled, electrocardiography (ECG) waveform data management module enables clinicians to simultaneously view or complete ECG exams along with all other cardiovascular procedures through a common system infrastructure.
The ECG Management module is the latest expansion to the Horizon Cardiology system, which addresses interventional cardiology, peripheral vascular radiology, hemodynamic monitoring, echocardiography, vascular ultrasound, and nuclear cardiology. The common system infrastructure is designed to create increased productivity and greater throughput in the cardiology department along with better, safer decisions for patient care. Web-enabled functionality allows physicians to confirm ECG exams from remote locations.
The Horizon Cardiology system provides a full spectrum of needs for healthcare organizations with diagnostic digital image management, archiving, procedural reporting, and workflow management. Comprehensive integration capabilities include radiology picture archiving and communication systems (PACS), inventory, billing, orders, electronic health records, and registry submission modules. The Horizon Cardiology system is a product of McKesson (San Francisco, CA, USA).
“Before we implemented the Horizon Cardiology ECG module, our physicians were required to sign on to different systems and programs for various cardiac services”, said Cally Evdos, non-invasive manager of the heart and vascular center, New York Hospital Queens (NY, USA). With all of our entire cardiovascular services--cath lab, echo, and ECG--now under one umbrella, our physicians have quicker access to complete patient information, empowering them with optimal information to make diagnostic decisions.
