The HARTMANN GROUP has acquired the Whitestone Acquisition Corp., Bloomington, Indiana, a U.S.-manufacturer of absorbent incontinence products in the U.S. market, as of December 1, 2008. In this way HARTMANN strengthens its position in the nursing home and home care sector in the most important market for incontinence products.
With the acquisition of Whitestone, a manufacturing company with approximately 120 employees and sales in excess of USD 40 million, the HARTMANN GROUP provides a complete product range for the care of incontinent persons. The operations at the Indiana and South Carolina sites will continue.

Together with the existing subsidiary, HARTMANN-Conco, Inc. in Rock Hill, South Carolina, HARTMANN now provides in the USA a wide and diverse range of medical and care products as well as a field service covering a wider geographic area. With this acquisition, the USA will become the third largest market for HARTMANN after Germany and France.

With the acquisition of Whitestone, HARTMANN provides a wide range of incontinence products for cost effective and high-quality care in the USA, complemented in the premium range with appropriate HARTMANN product systems.

Both parties have agreed to maintain confidentiality regarding the purchase price.
