DALIAN, Liaoning - The death toll of a fatal road accident in Northeast China's Liaoning province Saturday afternoon has risen to 14, local authorities said.

Other 11 injured have been rushed to hospital for treatment, local authorities said.

The accident occurred at 5:22 pm Saturday when a bus plunged into a ditch on Xiajinxian section of the No. 201 State Highway in Zhongjia village of Dalian's free bonded zone.

Twenty-five passengers were aboard when the accident happened, according to local authorities.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
